The American pop rock band, known as Maroon 5, was formed in 1994 under the name Kara’s Flowers. The group was formed while the members Adam Levine, Mickey Madden, Jesse Carmichael and Ryan Dusick were still in high school.
In 1997, they signed to Reprise Records and released an album called The Fourth World. After this they broke up for college.

In 2001, the band reunited, this time with more R&B-inflected sound, with new name, Maroon 5 and with one more member, the guitarist James Valentine.
Their debut, Songs About Jane, released in 2002, went to Number 6 two years after its releasing, thanks to the single “Harder to Breathe“. The album’s other singles, like “This Love“, “She Will Be Loved” and “Sunday Morning“, became worldwide hits.

In May, 2007, the band released their second album called “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long“, with the lead single “Makes Me Wonder“.

The band’s third album Hands All Over included the single “Moves like Jagger” featuring Christina Aguilera, that reached Number One on the Hot 100 chart. The hit sold over 14.4 million copies worldwide and made it one of the best-selling singles in the world.

Since 2002, Maroon 5 sold more than 10 million albums in the US and over 27 million albums worldwide.
